Introductory Post

Hello there, my name is Sam Shariaty, and I am a 3rd year student at UVIC majoring in biopsychology. I was born in the Netherlands, and moved to Canada at a young age. My family is originally from Iran, so I would say that I have quite a multicultural background! I enjoy both playing and watching sports, particularly soccer. I also love traveling, as well as hanging out with my friends and loved ones. My career aspirations are getting into medical school in the hopes of becoming a doctor, particularly a surgeon. What drew me into taking this course is my positive experience with a previous EDCI course I took during the spring semester last year (EDCI 338). Furthermore, I wanted to take EDCI 335 as I love meeting and working with new people, and am hoping to improve my networking skills as well as grasping a greater understanding on being a part of an online community. Below is my Learning Pod Self Reflection. I can’t wait to begin learning with everyone soon!
